Meet Liliya

Liliya PetersonLiliya Peterson’s experience in the geriatric field started upon her entrance at Fresno State University  in the Spring of 1997  earning Bachelor’s in Health Science option in Health Services Administration and minoring in Gerontology.  Within 1997 year she simultaneously entered hands-on experience working at the residential care facility for the elderly (Arbor Village/later Hacienda) in Fresno, CA.  During her study @ FSU  she also obtained an RCFE Administration certificate, Gerontology certification and Minor in Gerontology along w/training at the UCSF Memory Center and Internship @ San Joaquin Retirement community (CCRC) facility (1997-2001).

After BSHS, her undergraduate degree in Bachelor’s in Health Science, option in Health Services Administration, in 2001, she had accepted position with Country Villa RCFE (later which became Khachatryan Home) serving older adults 50+ with developmental disabiliites learned being DSP I, II  serving as an RCFE Administrator.

She also worked as an RCFE Consultant assisting RCFE owners to open new RCFE facilities and/or writing proposals for the owners wanted to serve developmental disabled older adults and with increased level of care  needs (2004 to present).

In 2006 Liliya moved to Marin County, SF North bay, CA, and besides working with RCFEs worked as a Program Director at the Adult Day Health Center DBA “Your Health” located in San Francisco Presidio Park.  She was overseeing the program of diverse older adults and developmentally disabled adults averaging 165 participants per day attendance, 6 days a week.

She enrolled into MA Gerontology program at SFSU in August 2008 (option Long Term Health Care Administration) and earned her Master’s Degree in Gerontology, Long Term Administration option in 2010 (2008-2010).  During this time, Liliya completed a 480- hour NHA Internship as an Administrator-In-Training with Kindred Care Tunnel Rehabilitation Center  in San Francisco (rehabilitation and transitional care).

After graduation, Liliya joined a Healthy Minds-Healthy Aging program team in Napa serving Napa Valley underserved and underinsured older adults having difficulty accessing mental health services.  While coordinating a brand new program Liliya provided community education, mental and cogntive health individual and community screenings, assessments, care plans, referrals, therapeutical interventions and case managementAfter a year, the program became Napa County’s core program (2011-2014).  For more information please visit www.healthyminds-aging-napa.org and/or aaans.org.

In 2013, Liliya continued care consulting business with her husband serving individuals, families and the communities (50+ )
